About John Daters

Since 2004 I have built a strong ethos around strategic leadership within the marketing and communications industry. Through a career of management, speaking/presenting, and day-to-day work I have come to believe that all success in business should begin with a measurable goal in mind. The role of marketing and communications is to drive success toward that end goal by leveraging the appropriate tactics and channels at the right time and in the right way. Through this goal-setting comes strategy building, which is engaged by tactical implementation. Woven within this process at every step are the analytic checks needed to understand outcomes. Micro-measurable outcomes and way-points are critical along the way to prove success or indicate the need for adjustments. Measurement and refinement of strategic initiatives need to be done a regular basis with as much relevant data as is available. It is with this "plan, execute, measure, adjust, succeed" approach that I have found award-winning success across myriad industries.

    IGS Energy: Natural Gas and Electricity Suppliers

    John Daters engaged in various search engine optimization tactics to improve the organic reach of IGS Energy, an energy provider service more than 1,000,000 customers across 11 states.

    KeyBank

    John Daters managed the SEO strategy for KeyBank — the 22nd largest bank in the U.S. — and its subsidiary Pacific Crest Securities. Efforts included on-site optimization, as well as off-site/third-party organic search strategies.

    Colorado Tourism Office

    Official tourism website for the state of Colorado, John managed all content for the site, as well as events and business listing management.

    SilverScript

    Set strategy for SEO for CVS' SilverScript — a Medicare Part D plan. John Daters' SEO efforts saw organic traffic and conversions rise significantly, beating preset goal numbers.
